problem with data logging with USB cable
I cant get my computer to read the sensors. when i plug the usb cable to my computer, it sees in on com port 4. when its connected to the ecu, and im using ecucontrol data logger program, it says connected, but it doesnt read any values from the ecu. what do you guys thing it might be? i checked the wiring, its all ok. anything i should do software wise or whatever? is there like a common problem people face when it comes to this sort of stuff?
thanks

try swapping your TX and RX wires around.
do u have the driver installed properly?
baud Rate settings?
are you using USB or USB 2.0.. i had the same problem til i got a USB 2.0 port and it was all good from there.

I just doubled clicked the "USB DATA CABLE DRIVER" icon and it looks to be installed correctly. when i plug in the cable, the computer says its plugged in and ready to use. my settings are:
bits per second: 9600
data bits: 8
parity: none
stop bits: 1
fow control: none
is there anything else i can check? how do i know if its installed correctly anyways? when i go to device manager, it says "prolific usb-to-serial comm port (com4)
thanks

no, you still have to have it chipped with data logging enabled. and no there are no other side effects.
