i'm currently building an ls/vtec and i was gonna run it n/a, 11.5:1(pr3 pistons) w/a 75shot...but the more i think about it, the more i wanna go turbo, for many reasons. anyway i'm looking for some advice from guys who have done this, or can give me good info. my plan for a set-up is this;
head is a stock b16a1 head
bottom end-
je pistons 8.5 to 1(do i use the ones for a b16, cause valve reliefs?)
blockguard str
shotpeen rods
bal/blu..gsr oil pump etc..

for the turbo i want to build my own setup...i have a t-3 w/internal wastegate, out of a old t-bird(same as mustang svo), and i was gonna go the route of walbro/vortech fmu/v-afc/340 or 370 inj/1st gen dsm bov/some kind of intercooler??? i only want to run 8-10lbs, it won't be daily driven, but i want it to be reliable. will the turbo work well for this application? will my choice of bottom end parts hold up, under that amount of boost? or will the rods be to weak? any help or advice would be appreciated...or should i just stay n/a with the occasional shot of nitrous??? my goal is high 12's and as reliable as possible.(sorry for long post)

 

my ls/vtec has JE 9.0:1 pistons....

they have special made pistons for ls/vtecs...jsut tell them you're building an ls/vtec and tell what head you're using
