94 Civic - Need Help, Guage Cluster Wont work
First off I did an extensive search and couldnt find anything pertaining to this. Okay, for starters I have a 94 EX 5 Spd that I just bought, it has a P-84 ECU (E-Vtec Auto ECU or some crap) and a damn DX cluster (I have EX cluster on the way).
When I first bought the car the fuel and water temp guages worked, just not the MPH and the back lighting. Since then I have removed the dash, and installed a CD player, which I had to wire by hand because the harness was cut and the wiring was all mess up. Now after reinstalling the dash the cluster will not work.
I checked all the fuses, and couldnt find anything. Here are a few thing I think might be the culpret
- I cant find the plug to plug in the cluster dimmer switch in, but the Cruise Control computer is gone, so Im thinkin it hasnt been plugged in
- two wires on the big pass side plug on the cluster were twisted together and tapped, so I took the tape off, and crimp capped them
- the wiring by the CD player is a rats nest due to a past hack job on a CD player, there are one or two wires exposed and a few plugs and I cant figure out what they all go to.
- Im pretty sure the CD player may be hooked up to a 12 Volt and Power wiring not orginally designated for the radio
So as you can see Im pretty stumped and would really aperciate your expertise here guys.
Thanks a lot,
Xtream
