tire rims question
Can someone explain to me what the offsets are and why they are important. I have 1996 civic with stock wheels. What are my offsets and do i have a 4x100 or 4x114? I'm planning to get 17" rims with tires, what should my offset be?

Re: tire rims question (theeogflip)
you have 4x100, but not 100% sure about offsets... somehow i haven't picked that info up in my time here. I'm on my second set of 17"s and i would definitely suggest to 16s. I'm sure your roads in cali aren't close to as poor as our PA roads, but 17s are a pain and the tires are more expensive too.

This one is easy. You have a high (35-40mm)offset, which basically means that this is the amount of room needed for the wheel to clear the brake caliper/rotor. Your bolt pattern is 4x100mm. If you have any other questions, visit my company website at bstcwheelproz.com and you can find contact info to call me with any other questions.

For a 7" wide wheel on a double wishbone Civic, you generally want around +40mm offset.
