Default Car running lean in high rpms?

Is there a distinct noise that you might be able to hear if your car is running too lean in higher rpms in vtec?

all bolt ons...i just have a weird noise in the high rpm range. kinda like a slight rattle. AEM CAI, DC JDM header, Carsound cat, JDM FD, Exedy clutch....and a few other minor things.

i seriously doubt that would cause a lean situation.
although you could probably benefit from more fuel anyway

I wish someone could hear the noise that i am experiencing. I have a video of it from my camera from when my friend and I were out messing around. the car runs well but that sound is a little annoying. i have never heard it from another Type R.

have you adjusted the ignition timing at all? you might want to double check the timing and see what it is. when you say high rpm, exactly how many rpms we talking about. could you at least try to describe what the sound is like?

Well actually i believe the ignition timing is set at 18 degrees. Before i went to the dyno it was way too high, something like 20 degrees or something like that. I had a friend advance it without a timing gun and obviously that didn't work and i have learned my lesson. I am relatively sure that the timing is now at 18 degrees since the guys at the dyno put it at 18 and i haven't touched anything since. I am getting ready to replace the rotor/distributor cap in the next week or so.

As far as the noise goes i can send a video tape to someone who is willing to give me their address (sounds stupid but i will do it). It kinda sounds like the motor is straining a bit. When i say strains i dont mean that it isn't running good. I am saying the rattle it seems to do it at or near the redline. I dont get it. I have never heard this sort of noise from an ITR from all the videos i have seen.

my friends and I got to watching the video of the weird "noise." They said they think it is something inside my car rattling like change in the change thingy. I dont keep change in there but it might be something in the glove box. I am going to try to take all that stuff out (do have stuff in there that could make noise if vibrated enough). I will see what happens tomorrow.
