Default battery???

well when I started my car today noticed that when I reved my car a little the rpms would go up and when they came back down it went real low and almost wanted to die and the lights would dim. So I left my car running and disconnected my battery and it still ran which would mean the alternator is working fine (correct me if I am wrong.) So is this an early warning sign that I need a new battery or is this a total different problem? Any help would be great.

gets some carb cleaner and while the car is at idle spray your vacuum lines one at a time and if the car acts as if it wants to die there you go.

I dont think it could be a vaccum leak because my idle is normal its just after i rev it it drops down real low then returns to normal idle i heard (CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG) that a common problem is your idle will go up and down repetadily if you have a vaccum leak.

that is one problem associated with a vacuum leak, but a vacuum leak can cause other problems depending when the vacuum is hooked up to.

If the lights dim when the car revved down then it can't be a vauum leak, most likely its your battery or alternator thats about to go. Have you checked your ground connections? Make sure they're snug as well.
