Default RCA outputs + subwoofer Q.

hey guys

my friend is going to give me his headunit as he is getting a new one. I am not completely sure on what model it is, but he told me it has 1 AUX input in the front faceplate, and 1 set of RCA inputs.

my question is... what is the downfall of having only 1 set of RCA's? can i still hook a subwoofer to it?

thanks

if you want to hook a sub up, then you are fine.

well basically with one set of preouts you have limited tuning control from the head unit. for example, with 3 sets of preouts, you'll have front, rear and sub outputs of which you have full balance/fade control. You can set highpass filters on the front/rears and then lowpass on the sub channels and usually you'll have volume control. basically it all comes down to tunign from the head unit and how much of a system you want to create.

btw...all of this is assuming you're running everythign with separate amps and not the HU's internal amp.
