Default Reliability of B20vtec in EM1

Hey guys, what do u all reckon about this for reliability (the b20vtec swap in an EM1 that is)??
Is it worth it for the massive torque level gains?? or waste of money because of unreliability... the car would be street only also

would i be better of putting a turbo on the b16a or even swapping in a b18c in if i wanted to keep it N/A and if i wanted a little more reliability out of my car.

if anyone has done the b20vtec swap can u give me some thoughts on your car.. and how long has/did the engine last.. is it still running?? do u believe the swap was worth it or did u have bad experiences?

i really wanna do the b20vtec but dont know if its worth it.. maybe some feedback can help make up my mind..

also.. why do i never hear of any EM1's with b18c's?? not too common.

btw, ive searched and didnt find much, found a few posts on EM1 b20vtecs with limited info.

Thanks in advance for all the help guys, appreciated

the reliability of a b20vtec just depends on who built it first and second how hard the drive beats it

cheers gambit, so do u think if the car is tuned by the best and i dont drive it extremely hard it could have a long life.. u think it could last just as long as the stock b16a if treated well????

i think that if its tuned right it should last. i was thinking of going this route and realized if i wanted that torque + vtec i could just go h22. drove my buddys h23 hatch and its torq-y

EM1s with b18c are very common. It actually the easiest swap there is, even easier than the LSvtech or CRvtech. No rewireing needed, no extra oil lines, just slap your b16 head on the b18c block, plug and play all the wires and hoses. then off you go! Reliability is good, torque not bad.
