Default Help with my jl audio system!!

im runnin a jl 500/1 with a 12'' w7...after hooking it all up....it was working fine for a few minutes...then my sub turns off and on constantly...could it be the amp?...i think there is something wrong with the amp...its probably a shortage in the amp that makes it power the sub on and off....some1 help...lol

You need to disconnect the sub and and check it with a multimeter or DVM, I would also check all the connections, take a close look at the amp ground, and check the fuse on the amp power wire, by the batt., make sure it's not defective. 94

what head unit you got?

its a power issue, i had a same problem when i ran a shitty kenwood to my 2 jl's..after i got an eclipse HU, everything was sweet

probably a power issue

the ground is hardest with integras....i had problems getting a good ground...i hooked it up to the spare tire....

You need to keep the ground wire short & it has to be grounded to bare metal.
What ga. wire did you use?

could be the ground, start scrappin some paint til you see bare metal

or just go check all the wirings again..

not to thread jack or anything but i checked my power setup with a dvm and when i turn amp on i have only 5v at the amp and on the remote and no sound commin out of speakers

headunit: eclipse av5101
amps: jl 250/1, jl e4300
wiring: 4 gauge to 8 gauge dist block (both power and ground)all monster cable and rcas

anyone have any suggestions, any help would be appreciated..thanks
