no turbo funds, .42.48 be ok?
i am low on cash for the turbo fund, will a .42 .48 be okay on basically a gsr motor(10.6 compression due to itr pistons). i'll be happy with liek 230-240whp.. and then later on upgrade to a .57 trim .63 a/r.. would this turbo be okay for now? if it could spike 10 and hold 8 psi till redline that woudl be okay. anyone run this turbo on a vtec dohc? thank you
i have a 14b which is the same i think?its on a ls and its not too bad.Full boost arond 4500-5k,and at the moment i have a 9psi spring and was creeping to 13psi due to a bad delta wg(where`s my tial boostfed lol).It holds good boost to 7k on a ls,and it doesnt seem to lose any power in the top end.
Now as for a gsr with more rpm/vtec im not sure if this is the one for you.It will put the #s your looking for ..250-260whp at 10psi.But your going to be working the crap out of that turbo and would get shaft play faster or need a rebuild faster than a bigger turbo working less and getting the same hp.
To sum it up,the turbo will work, you should be around 250whp(high psi 10?),just not too sure on what power you will make it the high rpm`s 7k+
