need help on 95 civic!!!
Ok first off i bought the 95 civic d16z6 with a skunk2 chip car from a friend. Well it was running find the day he sold it to me. But the nex tday the car just shut off on me half way home while i was cruisin around. the car now sit here at my house i pop the hood all i see is a bunch of black tape everywhere on the harness. i guess he doesnt know how the wire a car. but anywayz the car die it keeps on eatin up my battery and not enuff power. i went to autozone to check to see if it the alternor but that was good. i also check the plugs and fuses too. but right now i not gettin any fuel from the pump or and spark from the distributor(when out an bought a new one) and still no spark or any fuel. i went to a pro4mance shop an ask they said to check my ignition control unit. can anybody help........... Thanks
Sounds like a back connection with the ECU. Check the wiring and the ECU its self. You said it was chipped right. Find out if it was installed profesionally. Good Luck
Okay, please use better grammar next time I had the hardest time reading that.
I don't think it's your ignition control unit, what that does (from what I've read) is when you turn your key, it starts the car and once you let go of the key it'll stay started. If the ignition control unit is bad, once you let go of the key it won't stay started.
You said you replaced the dizzy (distributor) but did you replace the fuel pump? Can you hear it prime whe you turn the key to accessory?

Also, check for CELs (Check Engine Lights). That will tell you pricely what part of the car is malfunctioning.

sound like you could have a short some where.. if he used tape on the wires how did he do the splices and did he actually solder the wires together and heat shrink them. sounds like bad wiring...

This could be it also. Check the harnesses that plug into the dizzy, check for any bad connections. Could be some bad grounds also.

hard to say you could try and go back thru all the wires and check them if you have the etm is should not be to hard, just a pain in the ***. or you could spend the cash.. i would check the harness that was in there cause it sounds like a pretty good hack job by the person that put it in. theres no telling what else they changed.
