what amp to buy?

what amp to buy?

i have purchased a type r 12
it has 500rms and 1500w peak what kind of amp do i need

i dont understand is more power better or less power worse

You need an amp that makes 500 watts RMS into whatever load you have the Type R wired to. and yes it is always better to be a little overpowered then underpowered, a 600 watt amp would be fine on that sub.
