Default Need help picking out parts for my system.

I am going to put a system in my 1997 honda civic ex coupe and I was wondering if you guys could help me pick the stuff out. I listen to a lot of rap and alternative, so bass is important. I am getting 2 12" polk audio Dx subs. I was wondering what HU, speakers (for inside the car) and amp I should get. The subs run between 50-400 rms. I have about $900 to spend on everything, the box, subs, wires, HU, speakers, I mean everything.

Thanks!!!

why are you picking the polk subs? It's very important to hear the subs first.

Your HU is your preference..get what u like, feature for feature etc. take a look at pioneer for nice looks, alpine for great sound...try staying away from sony though.

As far as amps..again NO SONY. a fosgate amp is prob your best choice, and if you want killer bass out of 2 12"'s (i'm talking almost vibrate your windshield wipers when you want to, and you can tone it done from the dash when you dont want to) try out a bd500.1 (good for 300watts RMS to EACH sub, or 400 watts RMS to a single)

For something a little less, a 360.2 bridged will power 2 12"s fine, but the bd500.1 is more efficient and wow...

For your speakers, me and alot of other people choose Infinity components for a nice clean sound...you have to listen for yourself.

Also check out http://www.sounddomain.com 's forums for more info before you make your decision.

Sooooo.....
Decent HU - $200
Bd500.1 - $300
Infinity's in the Front and Back - I have no idea (prob $150 for each pair...???)
Wiring - $30 get a stinger 4 gauge KIT off ebay...can't go wrong.
Box - $100 MAX for a dual 12

so there u go...you should be doing ok
Oh yea, and i've tried to estimate the pricing for you, i'm from canada so your dollar is like a million of ours so please forgive any small errors! They should be fairly accurate though

for the amp, get memphis audio st-3004. It'll give you 4x75 watts at 4 ohms to run your door speakers and the rear speakers. I'd recommend xtant or phoenix gold but I think they won't fit in your budget. As for the memphis, you can get this amp for round 250 on ebay.
For the subs, you can also go with memphis audio st-1000d, will run your subs just fine.

For an amp i would reccomend an MA audio HC2501, its stable down to .5 ohms and pushes out 1250 watts their, 850 at 1ohm, and 480 at 2 ohms continuously. I have one running my 2 Memphis Power Reference 10's in a ported enlcosure made by Memphis, and they slam, i love the amp and i got it for only 200 brand new off of Ebay. i reccomend Memphis for the subs and an MA Audio b/c their are great quality amps and you can get them cheap off of Ebay brand new, if you want i'll post you some pictures of it or something, but good luck man, i know what your goin through b/c i just got all my stuff put in a few weeks ago.
