Default Longacre Toe In Tools

Can someone check out http://www.longacreracing.com/catalo...st.asp?catid=5 and let me know which of these 3 tools listed are needed to set toe. It seems like all I really need is the toe in plates. Anyone have any expereince with these products? Hows the accuracy?

All you need is the plates. The drawback is the plate rests against the tire, not the rim or hub. So, if the tire is a bit out of round, the toe measurement will be off a bit.

I'm a little confused.... the "plates" are the equivelent of any other strait edge you could lay up next to you tire. It seems like you could find any number of things that would do the same thing and cost next to nothing.

Is there some benefit to them that I'm missing?

The best is the toe bar... for $82

You lift the car up... spin the tire.. and scratch a line in the front tires...
then set the car down... and settle the suspension.. then measure the distance between the line from the back of the tires and from the fronts.. and the difference is the total toe

the toe plates would be faster at measuring toe.. but not as accurate

They want you to buy the scribe.. but any utility knife... nail.. or somthing else that you can hold steady will work... or look at the picture and make your own

How much more accurate is the bar vs. the plates? The plates seem pretty easy but the bar seems to take a lot more effort.

The bar is probably more accurate since you don't have to deal with tire imperfections...

but the plates are easier and faster

sure you could make one... take a good look at the picture and head to home depot / lowes
