What tool do you use to measure Rod bearing clearances ?
Plastigauge is absolute bullshit if you actually want correct clearances.....
if you want to do it 'right'.... spend about $300 on a good dial bore indicator, and a set of phase II micrometers, and get yourself a nice aluminum horizontal vise...
plastiguage is 'good enough' i suppose, but it's ****.

Agreed... we come up with the most whack *** readings when using plasti-gauge... but its pretty decent for what it is.
Plastigage tells me if I'm within the service limit. That's all I need to know.
I'm not building 10,000rpm, 300hp race engines.
As long as my clearances are in line with what Honda says, that's fine by me.

Mike K, would plasticguage be ok for installing ITR rods on a GSR crank ? Just cause I know that I can't go by the honda bearing chart, I would like to know that the bearing that I installed are within the factory tolerances. Also, how much are rods bearing usually ?
