Default Tein S.Techs + Tokico Blues = stiff ride?

Well, right now I have the tein s.techs on stock shocks on my 97 civic hatch. I was just wondering if the blues will make it a lot stiffer since my hatch is coming out of the paint shop soon, with ABS lips that I dont want to crack if my car bounces on and off my driveway/bumps. If not, what are soe other good shocks that will make my car the least bouncy, I want a better handling car anyways heheh

I absolutely LOVE my TEIN S-Tech/Tokico HP set-up. The car rides nice when driving normal, but stiffens up quite drastically during more demanding conditions.

They're a great set-up for daily driving, and do great on my Auto Cross events as well.

Over all, a very good set-up, I would recommend them to you.

I got mine for $100

Long story... I don't feel like typing it all out.

$250 shipped is a Damn good price brother. If you want to tune your car, it takes money, just remember that

Oh, and there is one site you should check, it's a place called Honda-Tech. I hear their CLASSIFIEDS section is pretty good for finding used, quality parts

Tokico blues (HP) are a replacement for stock shocks, meaning stock feeling ride, they are made to the same specs. It will be a lot stiffer at first because they are new but overall it should be about the same. If you want stiff, go with the tokico illuminas, i had them on my hatch and they are adjustable to 5 levels of stiffness depending on where you need it.

if you want something stiffer you need something adjustable which leads to more money... so its all about how much you have and how much you want to spend... the only thing i would recommend the blues for is a stock replacement or if you have your car mildly lowered... say .5"-1" drop

Well, im on Tein S.techs which are supposedly suppose to drop me more than an inch. A lot of people say its ok to ride em on stock shocks. I just dont want to scratch up my lips, or worse.. crack em. I guess for now I just wont be parking on the driveway lol

The Blues are great because they're on the cheaper side, and they provide a great ride.

However, I'm going with Koni Yellows when my current daily driver is transformed into the race only car.

It just depends on how much money you want to dish out here.

Everybody who says the blues are stock replacements are talking out of their ***. They are a performance replacement, and they are certainly valved more aggressively than stock. You will enjoy them...especially if you have the S-Tech spring rates, which aren't much stiffer than stock.

I have s techs and tokico illuminas on my em1. I love the setup with all my heart. I leave the shocks set soft for daily driving and adjust them to a 4 or 5 hardness setting for autocross. Even on maximum softness the car doesnt bounce at all. Its seriously a really nice ride.

Hmmm, well I guess ill look into the agx's also... but for now all i can affored are the blues and i really need to replace my worn out one. Besides like some people say, they have a little stiffer ride considering they are suppose to be performace shocks.

Most people think that because Tokico supplies many manufacturers with struts for the stock vehicles that the Tokico Blues are not performance shocks. They are---the official name is Tokico HP, for "high performance".

So what exactly does everyone think will make me ride stiffer and more controlled? My tein s.techs + what? GR2's, AGX's, HP's?

Like I said... S techs + Tokico Illuminas(5 way adjustable shocks). Not only will this make your ride stiffer and more controlled, but you can fine tune it for the track or make it soft for a luxurious ride.

Hmmm, Illuminas are a little too pricey for me though... with alignment thats going to cost more than 400bucks even if I install them myself. Im leaning more towards tha KYB AGX's that are also adjustable and cost about 100 less. Does anyone have this setup? S.Techs +AGX?
