Okay, i have a brand new built LS block with a used B16 head....... Basically LS/Vtec..............I was driving yesterday and i started to see my idle going really low. Like around 600 rpm....... Then later on, when i was driving, i put it in neutral, it died out on me! I would start it up and it would be fine again. Then i started to hear ticking noise, assuming valves cause it cant be rod knock cause i have a brand new built block, i have oil, and rod knock makes a really loud knocking noise........Anyway, i kept driving cause i had to go to work and i would try to accelerate, it wouldn't go, it would like take forever just to go up 1 mph.......... Then i slapped it back to neautral and it died out on me......... I cant' figure out the problem guys! I check the timing to see if i skipped a tooth because i needed to change my timing belt, but the cam gears teeth were aligned...........Please help me honda-tech members because i spent a lot of money on that motor! Please give me some answers, thank you!
Sounds like whoever adjusted your valves left the adjuster loose and they came out of adjustment. Loss of compression can cause you to lose your idle. Just a thought. Do a compression test.
Everytime I put my car in neutral it was dying on me also. I have a fresh built ls/vtec turbo. I guess I was having the same problem but my car would still get up and go though. I couldnt figure it out and it just stopped automatically.

theres not much we can do with just that
get a compression test done on all the cylinders
do a leakdown test done
make sure the engine timing is right (not by just looking at the cam gears)
drain the oil ,and pass a magnet thru the oil see if theres any metal
put a oil pressure gauge and monitor it
