managed to pull a code before i reset the ECU for TDC sensor (CEL 8).
at a solo1 event this weekend, my car kept shutting off under hard cornering (downhill hard turns etc). i pulled the code after it happened once, and reset it to see if it would happen again. it did on my next hot lap, but the code didn't come back. (happened once at a solo2 event as well)
is this my problem then? is it just a faulty connection if it's only happening in turns, or is it just going to need replacing? is my dizzy going bad or is this under my timing belt cover? (there are conflicting opinions as to where this is... i guess i could search more
)

Just a thought since you mentioned hard cornering, etc., .. are you running a baffled oil pan or was the oil low?
Wouldn't explain the CEL, but would drop you out of VTEC if the oil pressure dropped significantly.

oil was full, gas was full. it wasn't just dropping out of vtec, the car was shutting off completely.
i will check my dizzy connections
i will check my dizzy connections
Check the connectors at both shock towers, "loose" connections are common there. Check each wire individually for good solid contact with it's counterpart. If those are good, sometimes the harness under the intake manifold will cause this problem as it rubs against the intake brace. Leave the car running as you make these checks, that way you know you've found the problem!
