Default stock fuel pump and stock fpr with 450's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I need to know if my stock fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are o.k to use with dsm 450 injectors. I plan on running 7 lbs of boost using the edelbrock turbo kit minus the intake mani using crome as fuel management(p28). Will the stock fuel system plus 450 injectors be o'k' to use or will I run into problems. Thanks allot

i think you will be fine without a fuel pressure reguatlor but i would go ahead and upgrade to a walbro fuel pump.. you prolly would be okay on 7lbs but those fuel pumps are like 80 bucks, and if u ever plan on running more boost in the future it will be one less thign to worry about.

i used a 200k mile stock pump with rc440's on my 8 psi ls turbo for like a month. wideband never went lean. i wouldnt do it for long though, and especially if i didnt have a wideband like permanantly in my car.

basically, it can be done temporarily, dont keep it that way imo

Let me know if I'm wrong here but from what I understand You can use the biggest fuel pump in the world but without a bigger FPR your fuel delivery will be the same as stock. In other words bigger fuel pump plus bigger FPR =more fuel, Stock FPR plus bigger fuel pump= same Fuel pressure as stock. Am Iright or wrong here????

I used my stock fuel pump on my 90 Civic Si with DSM 450s for over a year and I drove/boosted daily and ran 13.9 @ 105. Boosting 8 psi. NO problems.

You can get an adjustable FPR to fine tune your setup by slightly increasing or decreasing fuel pressure. Increasing and decreasing fuel pressure allows you to get get some more or less fuel out of the injectors. But if you are running Crome, then a stock FPR will work fine. That means is that your fuel pressure will remain at the stock level. But you can still increase and decrease fuel from your fuel injectors through Crome.

I ran 12.75@108 on a stock fuel pump and an Aeromotive FPR with dsm 450's.. Was running consistant 13 flats for 2 years on a stock pump..

Stock fuel pump and stock fpr should be fine. I've been using mine....7lbs, 200whp, 440cc injectors......no problems at all. But if you do decide to upgrade, its an inexpensive upgrade.

The stock fuel pump can flow up to 280 whp. So you'll be fine with your stock fuel pump. Honda's have very reliable fuel pumps.

We have customers running our 450s with the stock pump and FPR reliably. One customer is even running a set of our 550s with the stock pump and FPR.
