PUFF OF WHITE SMOKE??

Here's the setup: 99 Civic EX turbocharged (48K miles) with an F-max turbo kit since early 2000. The turbo seals are leaking a little bit (very, very little), the static timing is 2 degrees retarded. The coolant level has not changed at all. When starting up in the morning, she smokes a little bit, but my other vehicle do that to (new vehicle; condensation). When driving, no smokes comes out, when down shifting, no smokes comes out. I only get a white puff of smoke when I get on it, it's not a stream of smoke, just a white puff. I'll be doing a compression test this week. Any thoughts, inputs will be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm running the fuel management that came with the kit, and I'm only running at 6 PSI. What kind of system were you running when that happened? What PSI were you running? More info or assistance will be appreciated.

I was thinking about that also. I have some ARP head studs on the way. Like I said, she does not burn any coolant or oil, everything else is fine with the exception of the white puff of smoke when I get on it hard (which it's not too often).

Take the existing line that runs from the black box to the intake manifold, run it through a catch can, and into your exhaust with an angled pipe. Just be careful you don't suck your oil seals inside out, you can get a lot of vacuum like that.

Heres a pic.

The PCV valve going to atmosphere is pointed "backwards" if you will. It will open up when the crankcase pressure is above atmospheric pressure. The normal PCV valve in the intake opens when the crankcase is above manifold vacuum.

One more question then, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of engine/fuel management are you running now? I'm thinking about ditching the F-max fuel management and going with AEM EMS and RC 440cc injectors.

EMS would be nice if you got the $$$...and im sure itll run 440's no prob, what are you using now FMU? (ditch that asap) I've decided on running a P28 ECU (from 92-95 EX/SI) with uberdata or crome (more info found at http://pgmfi.org) a lil cheaper than EMS and its a stock ecu so you get all your codes and what not.

EMS is not cheap, but it's a good stand alone management and I have a few friends around here that are pretty good at tuning it. No, I'm not using an FMU, I'm using the fuel management that comes with the F-max kit (some type of piggy back controlling 2 Lucas injectors). Keep in mind that this kit was bolted on to the car back in early 2000. That's why I'm working on upgrading the components before they die on me. Thanks for the link, I'll definitely take a look at it. I don't mind looking at different venues or trying something different.
