trouble starting when hot
my car has trouble starting when it is hot only once in a while. Sometimes when it is parked in the sun all day it won't start, I'll wait a minute and then it will start. Also when I drive and turn it off for a few minutes it will do it. Now this will only happen a couple times a week so not everyday. Any ideas? There is no check engine
both of my hondas have done that
and my friends did it..
i think its just a honda thing.. i have heard its the starter and i have heard its some relay..
as long as it eventually starts its ok

I've had and fixed this problem. When it's hot, the solder connections in the relay crack open and the relay malfunctions. As it cools down, the relay works again. Do this check, when you have trouble: turn your key to the ON position (not start) and immediately listen for the fuel pump priming 3-seconds or so. It's kind of a humming sound coming from the rear of the car (fuel pump is in the gas tank). If it doesnt prime, its your main relay. The car should be able to turn over but not start.
This is a common problem on Hondas, but you shouldnt live with it because it can strand you.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yes. This happened on my brothers DA. It is a known problem. Try replacing the main relay.

That would be a main relay, my DA does it, when the interior gets to warm, it wont connect when you try and crank it over, well it will, it just wont last, thus, the car will die.
Usuaslly happens after filling up, best way to avoid this is to drive w/ your interior fan off, or if you know you gotta start your car, while only letting it sit 5-10 minutes, crack a window, or when you get to your car, open the doors for a sec and let it air out.
Good luck

Been there, done that.
It's your PGM-FI main relay.. controlls weither or not your fuel pump primes or not.
The joints in the relay crack and have loose/bad connections and cause this to happen..
Easy simple $10.00 fix

Well then you must never read.

main relay for sure
BTW hodna main relays are dual relays... The first relay powers up the computer and supplies power for the second relay. Once the computer is powered up, it will ground the second relay, which supplies power to the fuel pump.
