</TD></TR></TABLE> I doubt that that is the problem, it's more likely a pinched cell phone mute wire on the back of the HU or the mute button is collapsed, you can check the button by compering the feel of it, [when pushed] to other buttons on the HU, I have 3 Pio. face plates at work with collapsed buttons at work 2 are the up button Vol./bass/treb./fade, the other is the #5 pre set, it was a far to common warranty problem with Pio. although I don't see it on there newer HU, probably switched to Alps switches, lol

Now that is strange, not to have quick easy access to a function that is supposed to be a quick easy way to drop the volume, [mute] and then bring it back up to where it was, I don't think I have ever seen a HU that has mute but no mute button.
Did you also check for the mute wire on the back of the HU?

PS..... Have you tried rebooting the HU? there should be a reset button someplace on the faceplate or behind it

Yea that's Pioneer for you, functions only accessible by remote control, loose the remote, loose the functions
Have you tried leaving the remote out of the car? if you can't find a reset button, [lots of HU don't have them] just do it by disconnecting the batt. If that does not solve the problem then it's time for the repair shop or replacing the HU

yeah its doin it again. Theres no reset button. I'll try disconnecting the battery tomorrow and if doesnt work ill just take it to barreta audio. It seems to happen on the really hot days but i dont know maybe thats just concidental. One things for sure my next hu is gonna be a alpine.
