Brake Pressure
The problem is when i first apply my foot on the brake it seems ok and feels normal, but if i am pulling up to a stop light and have to hold the brake down. after a few seconds the pedal gets really soft and slowly pushes down about 1 to 2 inches more than it would normally. i have to let off the brake and reapply it to get it to act normal. sometimes i have to reapply multiple times.
The fluid level seems fine...
Opinions ??

ok i will have to do that .... but, what would cause my the brakes to get air in them all of a sudden ????
i recently topped off the resevoir to max ... i am going to HAVE to drive the car to work before i can get someone to help me bleed the brakes ... i am hoping this will be ok ... plus, after i have bleed the brakes should i leave the resevoir full or half full ??
thanks

hard to say what may have caused it perhaps when you topping up fluid? in any case - while you are down around your your calipers, you can check the lines for leaks and stuff just to make sure something from the road didn't shear a line or something - it is odd having that you haven't done much brake work lately - but it could be something simple - perhaps one of the bleeds is a little loose or something.
i don't overly recommend you driving anywhere while your brakes are acting up - but if it's the only place you can get help then your options are few - because you can't exactly bleed brakes by yourself. just try not to put yourself in circumstances where you have to brake hard (ie: leave lots of room between you and other vehicles) and remember in a total fail situation you always have gearing/e-brake (yoikes!).
while bleeding the brakes try to keep the reservoir as full as possible, obviously you'll be bleeding fluid out - so just try to keep it topped... don't overfill - that may have caused the issues you are having now (;
best of luck.

thanks for the advice ... i can only hope that it isnt anything serious. i dont think it is seeing as its not too bad just not operating like normal. its a good think my car is manual and i have lighting quick reflexs haha, but its a bad thing i only have liability insurance doh !! anyways, hopefully i can find someone to help me tomorro. i am new to the area i live in and dont know too many people. the one person i hang out with on a regular basis didnt know which cable was positive and which cable was negative when we replaced his battery haha ... but i guess he could handle pumping the brake pedal i would hope...
again thanks for your help
