think i JACKED UP my brakes
so im changing my rotors and took off the caliper and brake line and it leaked a shitload of brake fluid. called a friend later told me not to take off my caliper and since i leaked so much my brakes will be fucked up. any imput?
they won't be f*'d up, you'll just have to bleed your brakes, keepin the reservoir topped... but yea i think for what you're trying to do - disconnecting the brake line wasn't the best way of going about it (just created more work for yourself). you'll prob want two people to bleed the brakes one person to pump (hah don't envy him) and the other to bleed... woot.

for now i think i might just fill up the brake fluid in the engine bay w/out bleeding the brakes. please flame if that's a bad idea...

it's your safety man, don't f with it! otherwise you'll go for your brakes one time and they'll squish all the way with no effect. not to mention if your one side grabs, but the other don't, yoikes...
just do it right, get someone to pump, keep the reservoir somewhat topped, and crack the lil bleed nut when buddy holds his foot down steady... do it a few times and you'll be set. hell - do all 4 while you have someone avail!

and since you NOW think it's a good idea to do all four...you should know there is a sequence to doing them however my helms *eh Hem* doesn't quite show the order *clearly* enough in pdf form \-:

natural selection... the strong will survive... not bleeding breaks equals... BIG thumbs down! If you're gonna do it.. at least do it right.. don't kill someone because you didn't feel like bleeding your brakes
Very bad idea to try a drive with air in the lines. What happens is that when you push the pedal down, the fliud will compress the air and no force will go to the calipers, when bleeding the brakes you always start with the one fartherest from the master cylinder(usually the passenger rear) then work your way up. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR WITH AIR IN THE LINES!!!!!
1. Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the MAX to FULL line with brake fluid and keep it at least half full throughout the bleeding procedure.
2. It is strongly recommed that whenever bleeding is required, all wheels be bled rather than just one or two.
Left front, right rear, right front, left rear

Um......is johnny five is reverse order? No offense to Matt5745767, but the right info might be helpful.....
http://www.stoptech.com/whitep...t.htm --> step by step write up
and the order on it is Passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front.

You're right it would, so you should have given it to him.
I have a Helms manual for the Prelude right here in front of me and the order is:
PS rear, DS front, DS rear, and then PS front.
Preludes have a proportioning valve which comes into play when bleeding the brakes by the way the valve distributes the fluid.
