Default got stuck while trying to change the shocks

i was replacing my old stock shocks to a new koni.
it was good until i had to unscrew the lower shock fork. the 17mm screw wont come out!! i used hand wrenches and the screw were too tight for me to unscrew it.. did you guys use power wrenches or are you guys much stronger than i am?

Careful! when those bolts snap it is a bitch and a half (usually) to fix! I'd say use a combination of pb blaster and lots of heat, one after another, then let the nut cool down and give it a shot. I've heard impact wrenches like to snap bolts, but I snapped two with regular old elbow grease + breaker bar as well. btw I used a regular old hand torch, didn't go all out for the oxy-acetylene setup.

bitch bar and just yanking on the things is what i usually do. I have an air gun but it wasn't enough to get this one bolt unscrewed off my buddies civic. We snapped a socket, then the head off the bolt, then the nut off the other end. Then came many beers and a couple hours of drilling and boring the remaining bolt out of its hole.

I'm not sure what the best way to approch stuck bolts it, but if you can, try and avoid what i described above because it sucks.

1. breaker bars snap bolts

2. impacts are the best because they hammer, bolts come loose with a quick snap, not constant pressure.

if you do use a breaker bar, jump on it. the bushing could be siezed to the bolt also thats a real bitch to fix up.

if thats the case u gotta take it all out and cut the bolt off and put in new bushings etc, royal bitch
