Default Rev Limiter & Code 16

Ok me and a buddy put a d16z6 into a 91 Si. We have figured out all of the cel problems except 16 and with this we have the rev limiter at 3500 RPM. I was wondering if anyone had problems with this or experience with this same problem?

Thanks in advance.

I just had this happen to me. The problem with mine was a main relay, code 16 is a symptom of a main relay failure is imminent. Hopefully, that will be your problem. Also, check to see if all your injector plugs are on the injectors. May sound stupid, but that could be the problem.

Also, I noticed that you put a z6 into your 91 si, you might have done a mistake with the resistor box:
obd-1 injectors: No resistor box
obd-0 injectors: Resistor box is needed

Here is what the manual says to do:

well we didn't need to use the resistor box because they are odb1 we just soddered all of the wires together like mr. carpenters write up. I will check the main relay. And all of the ionjectors are firing. We will try tonight though.

If you know the injectors are good it can only be a few things because the injectors aren't getting power. THere is an open in the wire somewhere, or ur main relay is done.

Once you get it started it will drive like normal, but if the main relay is bad, it will either just crank and crank and crank, or it will just click when you go to start it. Mine did both.

also when we drive there is a tapping noise. Its not a rod knock .. im thinking it could be a valve tap because we had to replace the timing belt because it broke in the motor when he had it in his EG. Also there is no exhaust from the cat back. It sounds like a piece of **** lol.
