car won't rev past 6,500, and vtec dosen't engauge? what's up?

 

if so anyone have one i can buy?

 

ok on the way home the light stayed off till I was about 10 minutes away from home, 20-25 minutes I have been driving and the car now won't rev above 6,500 and vtec dosen't engauge. I stop to get my hair cut, when I come out I drive for about 1-2 miles with it running fine then it starts again??????

 

definatly sounds strange. personally I would check the oil level first second thing, if it seem fine. simply wire the oil pressure wire to VTEC solenoid wire and be done with it quick bypass without any ill effect. (btw. obd2 JDM motors came without the oil pressure valve on the vtec solenoid)

 

so just run a wire from my oil pressure switch wire the the vtec wire and connect them? of disconect the vtec and use the wire coming from the oil pressure switch?

 

oil pressure wire spliced into the vtec solenoid. no need to even run the wire can be done on the ecu side.

 

could the oil pressure switch be acting up?

 

check the pin in the ECU, i had the same problem and the pin wasnt seated properly in the ECU plug, giving me intermittent problems.

 

I ran a wire from my oil pressure switch to the vtec solenoid and it still happens, does anyone have a vtec assem. I can buy if this is the problem?
