Default Strange Knocking while decellerating. Not brakes.

Any one know what this is? The knocking/thumping only happens when I am slowing down. It doesn't seem to be break related, and no difference when I am turning.

Axels? Joints? Tranny? Operator?

Thanks for any information any one can provide!

Is there anything dragging under the front of the car?

The hamsters want out.

Are you engine braking? Could be the exhaust then. Is your braking smooth, or jerky?

Lower control arm bushings are shot. jack up the car and give the wheel a good shake. i bet it moves like an inch.

check your torque mounts... same thing happened to me. The passengerside was the one giving me noise with all the bolts missing. Took me about 6 months to figure it out.

After I first did my swap, I also noticed a loud noise that would only happed on decelleration, it turned out to be the bolt where you connect the ground strap on the valve cover, it was catching on my worn *** hood everytime I slowed down, check under your hood and see if anything is catching,
I know it is kind of out there, but it did happed to me....

It could be this, what's this fella called?

Jacked up the car, wheel won't shake, motor won't shake. Yes I engine brake, but even in neutral when I idle, I still get the thumping when I am slowing down, not exhaust. Breaking is smooth, and clean. Nothing dragging below.

Drivers side, by my feet, I can feel the thumping.

Think this is it? What is the thing in the picture called exactly?

Trans brace? There's no context with the picture, and I'm an EG guy, so thats just a guess.

Context: What is this? It looks twisted and busted, and squished, and cracked, and worn, and...

I hope this is it... I can take better pictures if you need. The one on the passenger side looks better.

B20 swap was done before I got the car. Some half-*** work was done... But the price was right.

ES engine mount inserts would fix that right up... Along with the other two torque mounts. ~$35 also.
