Default Clutch squeeks and creeks

Here's the deal.. When i push the clutch in a little past 3/4 the way to the floor, it makes a creeking/squeeking noise. I had a buddy push it in and it seems to be coming from the slave cylinder or inside the tranny. It seems to get worse after a longer drive. My guess is there is air in the line, the slave is F'ed up, or the throw out bearing has issues. Anyone have any insight?

I have the same problem. Last time I went to get my oil change the Acura tech told me my clutch master cylinder was leaking internally. He said eventually it will be really hard to get the car into gear. A few people on HT said I need to grease something ( I forgot what they called it ) Anyway Acura said it would be $400 total to replace and install the CMC. I think I am going to get a second opinion

well, it's not inside the tranny, it's just inside the bellhousing. you probably need to grease the input shaft splines, release fork, and release bearing (aka throw-out bearing). it's a lot more work than it's probably worth unless the noise just drives you nuts. don't you hate it when you have a little tiny problem, and a Honda/Acura stealership goon tells you it's something huge and expensive? i hate those people. they think they know everything, but truth is, they don't know a whole lot. you gotta talk to one of the older guys there that's been there a long time. they're not such ******, making quick (WRONG) diagnoses.

Thanks for the responses. I guess greasing requires taking the damn thing apart right? Anyone else?

well, greasing requires removing the tranny most of the way from the car. it's not that bad if you have a friend to help you.

Mine's got the same symptoms but it's cable... idk it kinda bothers me to the point that I'm gonna pull the tranny off again. What all do I need to replace?

you can remove the rubber boot from the slave cylinder and spray some silicone lubricant in the tranny housing. i did this and it fixed my squeek and creek problem.

This thing is starting to **** me off... When the car has been run for a while, it seems like the damn clutch engages/disengages real weird... I am really not in the mood for a clutch job now...

i had my clutch slave master cylinder replaced because it really was leaking. before i had it replaced i had the same problem. even after replacing the cylinder i still have that annoying squeek. so im sayin that you DO NOT need to replace the cylinder.

What pisses me off is my stock clutch only has 33K on it. It should not need this maintanence already (IMO). Maybe once I find out where the slave cylinder is I will spray something in there. I have the same question though: will anything go wrong if I continue to drive the car?

Its just the sound of the diaphragm spring on the pressure plate flexing. Many hondas make that noise, and its not a problem to worry about. Also, spraying any lube into the bellhousing is a terrible idea, because you run the risk of oil contamination on the clutch disc, which will ruin it.

It is most likely your throw out bearing, this happened to me before and i would not say it's not big deal.

If you did not grease it with hi temp grease what can happen is it turns to sludge and can cause the bearing to dig into the collar and worst case senario is you need a transmission case.

Almost happened to me, luckily i did a final drive, and caught it before the case was toast.
