front bumper screws,seized. best way to get out
sup guys,
my front bumper screws are seized,the ones that are under the hood. what is the best way to get them out? i tried all i can with a phillips screw driver and didnt come out. and they stripped,well,most of them. tried wd40 and still wont come out

i assume you mean the 5/6 bolts that bolt the top of the bumper to the frame? i had one stuck too.. the best and easiest was to use a dremel and make a deep line across. then i took my flat head and hammer and wacked one end until it turned loose..

If you hadnt striped them out, you could have taken a hammer and given the screwdriver a firm tap while it was on the screw...most of the time that helps to get them to break loose!
I'm assuming they're the plastic ones between the headlights? I almost stripped one (was a bitch to the last thread). You really can't get any pb blaster on them because the washer below is rubber - you have to pour a few ounces on it at once (sits in a weird cavity, overspray/drips go around it). Slotting them with a dremil will work, unless you make the slot sides more curved than edgy. Best thing is to put all your weight on the end while turning it. Or get a newer civic - my friend's '00 was a cakewalk, she coulda got the bumper off herself.
