Alright......finally getting a Hondata s200..just some questions
I am buying an used Hondata s200 next Saturday and having the shop do a street tune for me. I will hopefully be going to the dyno once it's up a running for some dyno tuning; perhaps in a month or so.
Just had some questions. Will I see any power increase with the street tune or is that what the dyno tune is for?
I believe the street tune is basically to set my a/f ratio and make sure it's running alright. True?
Are there any problems I can expect to run into? Bad idle, detonation, too rich too lean?
Sorry if the questions are a little vague but I'm a NOOB when it comes to tuning. I do have adj. cam gears and a FPR but I believe tweaking those will come once I'm on the dyno.True?
My mods are J's intake, JDM header, T1R test pipe and exhaust(having the test pipe installed at the same time as the Hondata), cam gears, FPR and pulleys.
Any and all suggestions welcome
**feel free to add any JASMA comments 'cause that **** is hilarious**

Not sure if you saw, but mythias has Hondata for sale. Not sure if its what you need or want, but check his thread to make sure.
Good luck in whatever you choose.

The only prob I had with the hondata was that the evap purge thing (i'm a girl so i can call it a thing!) had to be disconnected in order for the car to run properly. It was causing the idle to be rough, the car would not start with high outside temps, and and it threw a VSS code. I'm not sure if your car has it though, I assume you have a 97-98, mine is an 01
The shop that did the tuning on my car did not know about it, so I had to find it on my own. Apparantly it's a rare problem.

I already cracked a deal locally so I'm good to go. Thanks for the heads up.
Nice avatar. That's dope
To shaniquoi177: Mine is a '99(same as '98 I believe). When I booked the appointment I mentioned CEL's and bad idle and he assured me that I would have nothing to worry about. Hopefully that is the case.

what year hype ar? make sure to disconect fuel evap hose from intaka manifold, or at least unplug the switch. that will prevent idle/startup problems. you don't really need a street tune with stock injectors, at least no more than 1 hour of street tune, which imo should be right before the dyno. and no more than 1-2 hours of dyno tuning. personally, i woudl'nt even bother with your type of mods, cause your car won't be that much faster. but thats what everyone does i did that stuff too.
Ditch the J's *****, tuners hate it. The fuel pressure should be set before tuning is done. Cam gears are seldomn touched. I honestly just got rid of my S200 in favor for Neptune. Being that you've only got bolt ons, you SHOULDN'T have any problems if the tuner knows what he's doing.
