Machining head for LS-V?
Ive done some research for some time now on doing a LS-V. I see they have the Golden Eagle LS-Vtec kits. They make it seem like a plug and play thing. I have had this thought in the back of my head for some time now, I was always under the impression that you would have to take the head to a machine shop and have them "plug" where the pressurized oil goes into the head from the block since the oil pressure is now coming from an outside line. Get what Im saying?
I remember when I did my mini-me setup (A6 block with Y8 head) I had to take out an oil jet in the block between cylinders 2-3 to reduce the oil pressure for Vtec to kick in or soemthing like that....its been awhile. Now I know this is a D motor and nothing like a B motor, but I was always under the impression that you had to "plug" something on the Vtec head to perform a LS-V since the LS block isnt Vtec equiped.
Hope this makes sense.
Basicly, is the GE LS-V kit plug and play with no machining? I did read about boring out for the dowel pins. Im not worried about that.
Thanks guys.
