short shifter installation on g2 ( I already searched g2ic)
I have removed the shift linkage, exhaust and heat sheild, and I cant seem to get to the bolt on the tranny which holds the shifter stabalizer off. I tried taking off the cross member so that I could get to the bolt with ease, but that ***** fuka aint coming off. I also tried getting a 12mm wrench on the bolt, but it doesnt fully fit on it, and it is just causeing me to strip the bolt. Any help?
hit it with some lossener like PB blaster or wd40, then use a shallow socket on it or if u have them or sumone who does uses a 3/8 drive air gun to break it but not a 1/2 that will more than likely slip off and strip the bolt also with the 3/8 u can pull on it for more twist

He does need to remove this bolt if he is installing the ES shifter bushing kit.
if the 12mm is rounding the bolt off stop using it. Are you sure it is not 11mm?? Everything on our cars is metric so dont try to mess with an Std size stuff.

Always try a smaller size(or a stnd size) if the tool moves back and fourth.
IF its to stripped get a nice size pair of vice-grips and lock them down TIGHT. IF you manage to remove it get a new bolt

Not true, for some reason after i came back from the dealer to get my G3 serviced, it had all standard bolts on there.... so just make sure that the one u are using, either metric or standard, fits the bolt nice and snug before u start turning the ****. Dont strip it!!
thanx everyone. I just managed to untorque the bolts on the cross member which made everything a hell of alot easier. And yes, I am replacing the bushings. Thanks.
