What could cause this problem, i have very lumpy and erratic idling.
The car has been parked up for three years, alot of black carbon deposits come out the exhaust,
What do i check first?

could the fuel pressure regulator need replacing?

 

I dont feel like checking what the codes are for, but the very first thing i'd do is fill up with a fresh tank of gas.

 

codes 43 and 44 are for fuel supply problems, i have taken off the fuel regulator and i sprayed it with wd40 to loosen it up, i am going to check the injectors later, where is the fuel filter located?

...last time i checked...it was on the fire wall

 

Thanks, i am goi9ng to have a go at changing it tomorow and i am also going to change the o2 sensor.
