Default motor heats up bad

lately my head has been oddly very hot but my oil temp needle stays in the center. I honestly dont think its too normal for it to get as hot as it does even when im not driving hard. what can be possible reason for such high temps in the engine?

What does your temp gauge read? Not oil temp, coolant temp.

Well, you didn't say what kind of car you had/having problems with... So, it is possible that it doesn't have one... But guessing by your name, if that is the car in question, IT DOES HAVE ONE!!!

my 95 ex was over heating for some reason but the temp appeared normal, you can just feel the heat when you open the hood, turns out the fins on my radiator were stripped. also not enough coolant. replace two and ran fine.

Maybe he thought the temp gauge meters oil temp and not coolant temp?

If the temp. gauge is in the middle, it's pretty normal, it gets up to about a little above 1/4 or 1/2 way at max, you should be fine.
