Default Optimal Engine Temp (water temp)

Hondas seem to all try to keep the engine temp at about 200 deg. F. I data logged mine, and it seem to stick very close to 200, it fluctuates some about 200 to 205 under hard driving. The question: Is slightly over 200 deg. the best temp for our cars? Anyone every change out the thermostat, and fan relay to keep the temp down at about 180 deg. F? How does your car run with the cooler temp?

Too Hot is very bad, but too cold can also be bad... What are your thoughts?

What's the oil temp? Water Temp and oil temp should be fairly close to one another at the correct temp you car will make maximum horsepower.

If oil is 215 and water 200-205 I think your doing pretty well.
if oil is 245+ and water is 200. I think you are going to need a bigger oil cooler.
if oil is 180 and water is 200. I think you need a smaller oil cooler, or a thermo for the oil cooler. Every car that I have built is slightly different so I cant really give you numbers on this one. Good Luck
