Default muffler question

I have a fart pipe on my civic right now. its annoying as hell so i want something thats isnt so loud.
I was looking at either a chambered dynomax or magna flow muffler. or just getting another stock muffler. Is there a difference between si mufflers and dx muffler?
Which one would someone reccomend? (preferably someone with experience)

My setup is a zc with 4-2-1 header and stock piping. A turbo will be in the next few months, just as soon as i get all the pieces. would the stock muffler rob horsepower on the N/A engine or on the turbo engine?

I would like to get a stock muffler as long as it doesnt rob power

I had a Magnaflow "turbo" muffler on my zc and it sounded fine. Way more subdued than the old coffee can.

But if you really are getting a turbo in the next few months, just wait and get yourself a whole new exhaust then. You'll want at least 2.5" all the way back.

i just got a dynamax muffler from summit racing ( http://www.summitracing.com part #WLK-17216 ) and its awsome. its a 2 1.4" muffler, and 2 1/2" pipes all the way down. real deep but quiet sound. they were also running a special offer, it costed $70 minus $50 from a rebate minus $15 in store credit. so i suggest that or a turbo muffler.

kteller makes 3" custom piping, and its cheap, if you want to do a custom exhaust. Just do that with an "oval" style muffler and it won't be too loud, especially after the turbo. 3" would be good for turbo, but will suck for n/a.
