Default Update: Got my 6000K's Philips working now...

I just decided to get a bit innovative and hack into my factory low beam wiring harness, remove the factory 9006 socket and solder the wires from the fact. wire harness onto the harness from the ballast....It was a real neat install, real simple, real clean..

The lights look fabulous...I got the color that I've always wanted....

now to test it out at night...stay tuned

Why do you need to solder in the first place? The 6000k Philip kit is not straight "plug-in" to the stock socket?

According to the instructions on the kit, they are supposed to be plug and play...but the funny thing is the socket from my factory low-beam wiring harness didnt quite slide over the plug on the Philips ballast...so I had to get innovative, stay tuned, I'll post up pics soon.

Yes I love them, but I'm starting to wonder if I'll get pulled over for them....I also wannanpark my car next to a BMW 7 series with HID's or any high end Mercedes benz and compare lighting output....maybe can ya tell me off hand?
When I had the old Philips kit with the 4300K bulbs, we lined up my buddys S2000 with my teg side by side and the lighting output on the ground looked identical.

Your 6000K bulbs will look very close to identical to the BMW 7-series HID and the 2001 and older 5-series HID (before the Angel Eyes) Compared to most Japanese cars, your HID's will be quite a bit more purpleish-white. Most Japanese companies use 4300K as compared to 5000K+ bulbs that Euro manufactures use. Another car with similar looking HID to the 6000K system is the Porsche 996 with the Litronic HID system.

What on earth is "Angel eyes"? Can ya explain?

I havent seen any new Porsches yet at night with the Litronic system....
I like them a lot, I just hope I dont get pulled over.

Maybe when the 8000K bulbs come out, I'll get those? hehe

Angle eyes are those tight looking light rings that light up as parking lights around the BMW 5series headlights. They look like hallo's.

The litronic light system on a Porsche is basically a HID system with a fancy name. A few friends have it on their 996 turbos and they are just HID's.
From Porsche:
"One of the major technologies introduced for Model Year 2002 is the powerful new Bi-Xenon lighting system. The benefits of this system include a better luminous flux than halogen lamps as well as wider and more consistent illumination of the road. It also offers a colour of light similar to that of natural daylight, thereby reducing the fatigue of driving at night.
The Bi-Xenon system is based on the gas discharge principle, and uses a single D2S Xenon lamp integrated into the main headlamp module. Light is projected through a special glass lens, while a moveable baffle is used to switch between main and dipped beam. Consequently, the beam is much wider and more homogenous. Which means better safety, particularly in long and otherwise blind corners. In main beam mode, auxiliary halogen lamps help increase the range, an important feature when driving at speed.

A dynamic headlamp levelling system is used to prevent dazzling of oncoming traffic due to pitching movements of the car under braking or acceleration. Light emissions are further reduced by means of a grey opaque strip at the front of each light. "

6000k bulbs will shoot out a stronger white/blue then any stock car on the market. I have tested mine against practially every car I can think of. Even a new Lambo! Yeah when looking at the headlights head on the color looks the same, but when you look at the projected color, the 6000k's defintally look different.
If 8000k comes out they will probally suck. The more kalvin means more color (blue/purple/white) however the brightness intensity (lumans) will drop greatly. Those rice blue bulbs can put out 8000k, however you can bairly see with them since the lumans is so low.

thanks Rboosted for the info. i guess 6000K is where I'll stop huh? since getting anything rated higher than 6000K will suck....anyhow I'm real happy with them and cant wait to try them out at night when its pitch black out.
