HID INSTALL PLZ HELP
i just bought a pair of hids for my 94 eg my question is do i need the relay harness to install these myself or can i just use the oem wire harness if so can some please explain how this install goes i really dont feel like burning anything plz help
depends on the kit and the car...and who your asking.
some ppl say run a wiring harness...
some ppl say just plug it into the oem wires.
other ppl say if it doesn't work with oem wires, try a wiring harness.
imo, just use a wiring harness.. skip the step of trying it with the oem wires...
cause if it doesn't work with a wiring harness.. you got a bad ballast/bulb.
just make sure its a good wiring harness... 14-10awg wiring..
the ballasts flicker due to insufficient voltage... some are more tolerant with the amount of voltage, and others aren't... depends on which ones you get...
and as i've read ppl get different ballasts in one kit... cause china is all about quality control XD

making your own is better quality for less cost....
2 relays minimum, some 12 gauge wire, solder, heat shrink
tools you need: soldering iron, heat gun, knife, wire cutters.
the knife is your wire stripper: carefully hold the wire in between your thumb and the knife's cutting edge, so that you can rotate the wire along the cutting edge... with a slight amount of pressure, the knife will cut the insulation, and not your thumb.
the kit should come with some sort of male connectors which you need to hook up to a switched positive and a ground... the harness can either be hard wired into those, or you can use some quick disconnect terminals.
if you are doing quick disconnect terminals, you are going to need a crimper.
