Well i just finished my auto to manual swap. took the car for a spin, and it ran perfect.
Now....when i was driving, i tried to put it in second and it wouldnt go in....ok, i thought. turned around in reverse...
put it in first gear, and as soon as i let go of the clutch, the car starts shaking and out goes first gear.....weird, i thought....maybe if i start in second......****, same thing....
now, i ran my car with no fluid (zip!) and i installed some yesterday, and its doing the same thing.
I have an old clutch, and i hope thats what's doing it.
CLIFF:
Z6 tranny doesnt want to go anywhere. when i let go of clutch, it shakes and spits 1st gear out.
Is it my tranny, clutch.
/???
i think the flywheel was rusty too..
i wasnt there to put it on. but my friend did it, and it ran fine. I hope its not my gears

yeah i did mention it...but what happened? i didnt hear a boom, and i dont hear any other noise. But before that happened, everytime i would press the clutch down, it would make a noise...like the throw out bearing hitting the clutch or something similar

just because it blew out doesnt mean it goes kaboom. the clutch probably got stuck in place due to no lubricant. or something like that
its like putting superglue on your hand and then grabbing your junk. just doesnt work.

No better way to put it then that.
Really that was pretty stupid running with no tranny fluid in there.
You just had it done.. you'd at least check all the little things out before you took it out for a test spin.

call around to inline 4 and other swap places you can probably pick up another gearbox for 200 bux and either learn how to rebuild that one or chuck it up to learning
