Default Stock muffler w/custom piping?

Good Evening Honda-Tech family, i have a question for your ladies and Gentlemen. I drive a 1997 Integra LS sedan with DC 4-2-1 Ceramic header and Greddy piping(used to have a SP2 catback)but now im running that piping(still have stock cat n resonator) and DC 4-2-1 header to a "replacement muffler" from a local shop (the muffler looks like an ES oval) but its a factory replacement. QUESTION is will it at least flow better than stock? perform better? just want opinions guys, and btw ive been driving around and it still seems pretty peppy replies appreciated, thanks

Well, if you have more air flow up until your stock replacement muffler, its not going to do any better then if it were all stock. It some instances, it could actually hurt performance.

Eventually, it will get better. I say that because you'll eventually blow your cat out and/or put a hole in/through your muffler. Those holes will provide more flow, which in turn will result in semi-unrestricted airflow.

Really whats happening here is like someone trying to dump 10 gallons of water into a funnel, then through a hose and then into a straw.

usually when you put custom piping on with a stock muffler it rattles and sounds raspy.

I"m going to disagree with that. I think raspy sounds typically comes from performance mufflers on the end of a system with no cat and/or no resonator. A stock muffler will cut out a lot of sound.
