Default ES tuning muffler

I am currently running a 5zigen fireball with some custom piping. I noticed the tone of my car changed...but didn't pay no attention to it b/c it was too cold and didn't feel like getting under the car. So....the weather warmed up a LITTLE so I checked it out...just as i suspected....a damn hole in the rear of the muffler. I'm contemplating on getting this ES tuning muffler b/c it looks more stock....but I can't make up my mind.
ANYWAYS...What do you guys think of this muffler? or

i'll be getting the 3" offset es oval when i get my turbo setup. I'll have 3" down pipe, 3" cat, 3" piping and then 3"muffler.

I have an ES Oval muffler. It's not the deepest of the bunch, and it's kind of loud (DC Sport Header, no cat)... but it looks close enough to stock for the po po out here.

Yea...I think I'm leaning more towards it. It looks okay and from what I READ on the site it says it gives off a deep tone if it has the right piping and if it has resonators. I really like the look of it...and the price can't be beat. Unless I find a Greddy SP or Apex WS...just the muffler section....I'll be picking this ES oval muffler up.

Mine is 2.25" mandrel bent, resonated, and it still has rasp to it.

The ES sounds better than the 5Zigen ones for sure...

Test drove my same hatch with a 5Zigen muffler and it was horrible. Asked him to put an ES Oval on before he sold it to me.

A rasp to it, eh? I've got the same 2.25" es oval and I love the sound of mine,no rasp at all and its deep enough, but not rediculously deep. And it looks sweet as well...

Can you get an audio clip of what yours sounds like inside and outside the car? When the snow clears up, I'll do the same and we'll compare.

why not run a GSR or Type-R rear section? I have a -R muffler hooked to 2.25" piping a 18"resonater and a catco cat and it sounds great. Its barely louder than stock.

when people say it sounds raspy im guessing they were just running straight pipe correct (no cat)? A buddy got mine got 2.5 mandrel bent pipe with out a (resonator) but had header and cat, and sounds good

Well, perhaps there is a slight rasp, Mario. You tell me. It does kinda lose its deepness at higher RPM. I still love the sound.

To hear my ES oval on the inside and outside of the car, go here. If you don't want to hear it, don't click the link. It's 432kb.

jhpusa.com has them for $99.00 (polished 2.25"in/out), $109.00 (black 2.25"in/out), $110.00 (polished 2.5"in/out), and $120.00 (black 2.5"in/out). Then you gotta consider shipping assuming that pick up is no available (like mine was $20 to kentucky). So is that good, or too much?

Well, I had some work done to mine and I have a huge exhaust leak and it sounds like absolute ****. I will do some vids with a stock cat vs. a test pipe as well. Give me 2 days and I'll have like 8 vids for people to see.

BTW -- it sounds different when the car is under load to, might consider doing some moving audio.
