Default exhaust on a 90 DA

Well i am wanting to get a new exhaust for the DA i just bought recently. It had the cat removed and the piping is 2.25 all the way back into a cherry bomb and it sounds like sh**.

So what exhaust should i go for? Do you think i should just buy a muffler and have a local muffler shop weld it in? If so what muffler would give it a good sound. I'm not looking for anything loud but i would like something with some sound to it. Thanks in advance.

keep the 2.25 piping and weld in an ES TUNING oval muffler and a magnaflow resonator.

I also removed my cat, and replaced it with a resonated test pipe, then added a resonator in the b pipe and ran it thru a Magnaflow oval muffler and a Monza resonated tip. Sounds nice, no raspiness, and has great flow. But since the muffler is a straight thru design, the sound can be alittle much when your over 4K rpms. I will be replacing the Magnaflow with a quieter performance muffler after the rebuild. I like quiet performance, and a deep tone, but not loud like many others go for.

The N1 is a little more than i'm wanting to pay. Looking to spend around 100 or so dollars...those were going for 200 bucks. Thanks though.

If you want only to spend about $100, then perhaps the local muff shop is about what you are looking for. The good thing about that is, if the guy is cool, he'll hold whatever you are looking at up to your pipe and you can get a decent idea about what it will sound like before you weld it in, saving time and $$$.

I have a JDM DC header and a KTeller exhaust kit with test pipe on my 91 with a Apexi N1 NA can on the end of it. I've added a 22" resonator and it's still raspy as hell. I think I'll need another resonator to quiet it down, but during normal driving, I can't hear a thing .

I suggest KTeller for piping, a reso for sure, and a nice quiet muffler (that's where I think my problem lies).

Well i'm starting to think it's not a cherry bomb cuz yes they are loud as ****. I have no clue what it is i was told it was a cherry bomb. Maybe i'll get a picture or something of it to let you see it. I'm thinking about just going with a type r muffler or something to that effect and have the local muffler shop weld it on for me.

I think it is. But will the type r muffler give me a deep tone and be semi loud. I want something where i can hear it when i get on it very well but when cruising it's not too loud. Again thanks for the answers guys.
