I have this setup with a test pipe, resonator, and rs*r 4-2-1 header. Honestly it is loud as ****. Sounds good, but really loud. It wasn't all that loud though before I got a test pipe though. Its a straight through muffler so its not gonna be the quietest thing in the world. I have however gotten pulled over twice and both times the cops thought I had an exhaust leak though. Stock looking exhausts kick *** .

I've got one with 2.25 medrel piping and res. and cat and mine is actually quiet If you want the stock look with straight through design this gets a big Plus it's only like 100 for the muffler and to get a custom midpipe is cheaper than a entire aftermarket catback. I may be looking to get rid of mine for an N1 design like a 5zigen.

This type of question is asked probably daily on HT, but in reality, loud or quiet is dependent on the individual. Alot of people think ES is quiet, and some think it's loud. The main factor is, do you plan to use a resonator/s, if so how big? I can tell you that I use 2.5inch collector, piping, and ES muffler, with a test pipe, and a huge resonator, and it's tone is much, much lower than my friends Apexi N1 2.25, my friends Skunk2 cat back, and of course my friends Spoon N1. Everyone will have a different opinion on what's considered "loud."
