Engine swap... Help Needed!
I own a 2002 civic ex and am planning on doing an engine swap. I'm not sure what engine I'm putting in yet. Although, I have looked around a bit. Anyone know what engine will fit/work well in my car. I heard that the "K" series was good.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Considering this is your first post i will let you slide and be kind
The k20A2 from the rsx type s is what you want. 200hp and legal. The k20a3 found in the base rsx and civic si is 160 hp. Not a slouch by any means but for about a grand more you can get the A2, if you shop wisely. You can find an A2 with tranny for about 3-4k depending on the condition of the motor. It would be a mad sleeper in that lil civic of yours.
Please next time do a search before you make any posts though. Its the link on the top right of your screen

He doesn't need the Hasport mounts, or their wiring harness if he has any sort of ability to read wiring diagrams.
I didn't use their mounts, nor would I have, as I honestly feel their K series mount kits look like ****! (Refering to the engine bay appearance, not the mounts themselves.)

Hell yes!!! The great thing about doing the swap now is, you can go to Hondata's website, and they pretty much have everything listed for you, as to what wire is which, and where it goes.

Go on...
Did you make custom mounts or did you use some combination of RSX and Civic pieces?

The engine bays between the two vehicles are identical, except for the fact that the Civic is shorter. Take out the old, fit in the new (you'll know where they go, without question). Weld/Bolt them in, paint, you're done. Now, it looks like it's suppose to be there.
In all seriousness, the bays are identical, like I stated. It's not are easy as purchasing Hasports mounts, but it is cheaper, and looks a whole lot better! The mounting support points, all line up with points in the bay itself. All you have to do, is remove the D17 mounts, without completely destroying the bay, and if you were to attempt this, I would assume you know how go about this. Next, take the mounts, you took from some front clip, or something simillar, so they don't have any excess material around them. Do whatever patch work you need to in the bay, and start aligning the new ones. Once you get them in, you will honestly know, where they're suppose to go.
