Car is half tore appart, pulled out the factory valvesprings, trying to install the crane ones. The crane valvesprings (part # 903-2000) comes with "exhaust spring spacers". I can see that the free standing height of the factory exhaust spring in taller, but the new spacers have too small of an inner dia to fit over the valve seals? not quite sure how to install, or if even necessary? Help please asap,

 

You'll need to remove your old valve seals to install the spring perch.

Is it possible to do this without removing the head?

 

The easiest way is with a valve stem seal puller, the slidehammer type.
