Default The CEL that just won't go away.

So i have a CEL, did the little paperclip trick, #41, o2 sensor, which is what the previous owner told me it was. Ok, i got a used through a HT member and put it in while it was at the shop getting painted, so it was started a handful of times. I figured that would be enough ignition cycles to reset the CEL. I finally got the car home and today I tried to reset the ECU to clear the code but it won't go away.

1) Do i need to drive it (a.k.a. not just let it idle) for it to complete an ignition cycle?

or

2) Do did i just buy another bad o2 sensor?

or

3) Is there any other answers you people may have?

Thanks for any help. i'd appreciate it

disconect the battery for about 10 min then hook it up and start the car. if the cell did not go away you may have a bad o2 you should check the wiring prior to getting another 02

just turn on your headlights after disconnecting the positive. it'll drain all residual power, so no waiting .

Find the pinouts the heater wires lead to, and trace them to the o2.
