EL Gauges installed. Problem with turn signal indicators... *searched*
I have my new EL gauges installed into my '93 Si to go along with my new h22a as well...
Anyway, the problem I am having is that the turn signal indicator lights on the cluster aren't functioning properly. All of the exterior lights function as they should, but somewhere inbetween the car and the gauges something is screwed up.
When I turn on the hazards there is nothing. However when I turn on either the left or right turn signal both signal indicators blink as if the hazards were on.
New parts:
1 : EL gauge cluster & attached inverter
2 : Upper dash harness (from a different source than the cluster)
3 : Dimmer relay (new from Honda)
The only thing I can think of is that there *is* an extra plug on the upper dash harness on the passenger side of the vehicle which seemed to have nothing to plug into when I was installing it. Perhaps there is a difference where the cluster came out of a manual car and the harness came from an automatic or something?
I'm going to do some part-number searching to see if there is a difference year-to-year model-to-model for the harness and the gauge cluster between '94-'96, but I was hoping maybe someone experienced with the swap may be able to shed some light on the subject?
There is one post in the archives covering this very problem but there were *zero* posts helping or lending advice/wiring diagrams. Perhaps he's still around and found a solution, but if not then please someone help me out....it's a minor detail but I would like to fix it even if I have to do some splicing myself....
Thanks!

Note:
When looking on Majestic Honda's interactive parts website, they DO show different part #'s for Automatic vs. a Manual wiring harness (part #110531 and #110530 respectively)...
Perhaps this is the problem? Does anybody know if the automatic and manual gauge clusters use different pinouts due to the "gear selector" tree in the middle of the auto gauges? Does this mean I'm going to have to track down the place I bought my harness and get a new manual one (including having to rip out the one I just installed?)
I think that somewhere around here is the pinouts but the question is would they be different? And furthermore if they are different then what colors should I need to swap to make this work?
I could (and may have to) end up testing with a light to see which wires I need to swap, and then power up the remaining wires to see what they do but I would rather not if someone can tell me the wires that need swapped.
Hope someone can help me w/this as I'm kinda in the dark...

Wiring diagram
Okay, so I found this...I think I get the idea from the last post, but I'm not too sure how to use it. I was hoping to do this without having to rip out the gauges again too (at the connectors above the kickpanels instead).
Can anyone help me make sense of all this? It shouldn't be that hard to swap a few wires but I'm just not sure what I'm looking for.
Thanks for any help anyone can lend...

By any chance were your cars automatics or are they now? I think it has something to do with using a cluster from a manual car and when your car has an automatic main harness orientation.
It's obvious that this has to be a wiring problem, and the only thing that makes sense is that either it is getting the wrong signals at the wrong plugs/pins; or the automatic tranny signals are screwing something up internally to the cluster (highly unlikely as there probably isn't any circuitry for those pins).
However, if your cars were always manuals that would throw that theory out probably. I think when I get some free time I'm going to use that pinout from the thread I posted to see if sending 12V to those pins will in fact turn on the turn signals properly. If so then it's just a matter of following those colored wires to the plugs that go to the lower main harness, then turning the signals on and checking the harness to see which wires are *actually* sending the signal. Then snip the wires farther back from the plugs and use a piece of wire to jump the harness.
Either way, since this is a fairly searchable thread whoever figures out the solution first needs to post back and we can keep it as an FAQ or something...
Happy hunting to those who want to test this out, all you need is a test light or a multimeter, and a small amount of wire and tools.

Quoted from CHK4TIX on his fix for this problem:
"hey anyone that has installed the EL, has anyone had any problems with the turn signal indicators?
EDIT
It took me months for figure this out.
If you used the 94+ wire harness you can fix it by grounding the black wire on the extra connector on the passenger side. there are two black wires but one is blk/wht. you want to use the blk wire which is on one of the sides of the connector."
I will try this tomorrow and see if it'll solve the problem, thanks prelittlelude for the heads up

Seconded...works like a charm. Thanks to all who helped I never found that thread after 2 days of searching...appreciate it!
