EM1 - gauges not working after cluster and dash harness replaced
So I had to replace my dash harness, because some idiot tried hardwiring an S2k cluster on there. The car is an EM1 with a jdm B16a and stock Si ecu (p2t I think... might be something like that) I get the new one (from an Ej8) in, plug in everything that's needed(except cruise, mirrors, little things, etc etc), and my new cluster. I turn the key to acc to see if everything lights up, and I only have the SRS light and the battery light....
And the fuel gauge moves down to empty when the keys turned, and I know it's not empty.
I try the other cluster I have sitting around and same thing.
I know everything's hooked up right, I know the new harness is un touched... it's not something super obvious.
I'm using these 4 plugs in the back of the harness (the higher green one on the same loom, not the lower green plug. Idk where that goes...)
But that's all I need, right?
The car wouldn't start because the battery had been sitting too long, but the ac comes on and works... I'm at a loss guys. Anyone have experience with this?
I'm at work now but I'll try to keep up on any questions I can answer. Thanks for any help!

Yours is a 2000 right, so there is the OBD2A/B difference but the cluster plugs are the same across 96-00 tho there is no adaper harness for that area so I assume it's the same it all clipped in correctly right ?.

Re: EM1 - gauges not working after cluster and dash harness replaced
battery is charged up, car turns on just fine. headlights and hi-beams work, but no indicators.... also the "BRAKE" light on the gauge comes on for just a second when the car starts up, but thats it. BRAKE, SRS, and the Battery light... thats it. No tach, no fuel nothing.
I guess next step is fuses. Is there any chance the ECM could be affecting this? idk what the idiot all did to the car...

Re: EM1 - gauges not working after cluster and dash harness replaced
I see, ill look into picking one up... i have the harness ground screwed in tight like it was when i took it out... but i was just out there screwing around and checking the battery to make sure it had good connections. Went to turn the key again to see if it would start and heard a crack, and now nothing comes on, lol. possibly a fuse? but its too damn cold to sit out there for long and pull and check fuses. The idiot had the engine fuse box placed under the glove box, but as far as i can see none of those are bad. I did some research and found that the "back up light" fuse can cause alot of these problems, but first i need to rule out the battery. im taking that into work tomorrow to have it tested and i'll see if i need a new one.
