hi ppl, today i find some time to mes with my car and basicly i tinted window etc , in my audio system i still run speakers with came from my supra, i have
polk components in fron and infinity betta 4 midranges in back, but the problem is that theese are 4" speakers i was able to put it in with some minor mods, but i want to get new speakers ( i mean right size and more powerfull, i run rf power 400a for spekers so it is 50W rms and much mor peak)anyways started checking out old speakers and mounting areas and here is what i saw, front door speakers sit in les then 2 inch mounting brakets and you cant put it deeper because of the window, rear speakers is kindda clear but what size is it, i had some 6.5 pioners whitch fits as 6 3/4 too so 6.5 works for front (by the way crutchfield and others gives 5 1/4 for front and rear for some reason), now rear speakers is anothe quarter inch bigger than 6 3/4 does anybody know is it standart or its 1 of theese sizes no one makes any more (like supra rear 4 3/4), and as well who ever instaled front speakers for 05 ex coupe what you did to put more powerfull spkr in that tiny less than 2" hole, i was thinking of raising speaker or something than it will touch grille but i think i can make something custom instead of factory grille, do you think it is worth working on it or just get kick panels or somewthing like that, sugestions are welcome, also i will gladly listen to your installiation story into 92-95 civic coupe

jsut cut the plastic bracket backing away with a dremel tool. i am running an MB Quart component set up there...6.5" and it sounds awesome. u get like anoth inch to inch and a half depth by doing this..and no it doesnt scrape the window....if u dont wanna do this...most defintiely do a kick panel enclosure.. they sound even better!
u can get em pre-fabricated from best buy or make ur own if you know a thing or two about fiberglass

that is what i was thinking but also what about rear speakers 6.5 speakers is too small there so what do you put in there

 

so enybody with experience with 95 civic ex rear speker intaliation / size

 

I have a 96 ex and the speakers are 6x9's not round if they are not 6x9's they are either 5x7's or 6 1/2 most likely 6 1/2

 

Ok, 95 civic EX, my computer says that vehicle calls for 5 1/4" on the rear.

 

i have infinity reference 6.5 coax's in the fronts of my 94 civic - they give you a little mounting bracket with speakers and if you use them, it adds depth....civic door panels have about and inch and a halfbetween stock speakers and the door panel - they fit nicely if you use spacers

 

you see your computer is BS'ting i think because that what crutchfield gives 5 1/4 as well but acctual size is like 7" or smthink it is biger than 6 3/4 i mesured my self i dont trust anybody since i bought 5 1/4 for my girlfriends car everybody gave that size and actuali it was all 6 1/5

yea, crutchfeild says 5.25, but its around 7, some odd-*** size no one makes....i just put 6.5s in
